​Our win on May 20, 2025 is the first victory in a larger campaign to protect our Open Space interests. Like Freedom, our interests require constant defense and constant vigilance.
The golf course owner has started a SECOND attempt to develop the land - this time he's seeking Industrial / Office Space.

In response, we have created STAYTRU ASSOCIATION INC as a non-profit community association dedicated to protecting our duly recorded Open Space, advocating for responsible land use, and fostering neighborly connections. Go here for details.

There are several concurrent efforts underway that will, we believe, equal victory:

The Over the Horizon Team which is spotting any County/Developer communications regarding the golf course/open space

A team of analysts scouring decades of Sarasota County records for the raw data upon which we will build our legal case

Land use experts who are compiling that raw data and synthesizing it into a brief

A Communications Team who is developing a professional video and other communication tools to help explain why our Open Space should not be Open for Business

A small legal team who will help put the flourish on our brief and present such to the Board of County Commissioners
