Legends Landscaping
A group of Legends homeowners would like to be part of a Board authorized "Landscape Committee" which would be empowered to create, monitor, and enforce a vendor Scorecard with the intent to improve the quality of our community landscaping. We are asking for your approval and authorization to act on behalf of all Legends residents.
We believe that:
The overall quality, health, and appearance of the turf and shrubs in The Legends has deteriorated over time
Various factors may have contributed to this trend
While, rainfall over the last 5 years is 1.7% (0.9") lower than the average over the 19 years prior (from 2001 when The Legends was built until 2019), rainfall is not the only determinant of healthy landscaping. The period from 2006 - 2012 had consistently some of the lowest rainfall periods in recent history - yet the neighborhood landscaping remained in excellent shape during that period. Irrigation is critical.
The quality, health, and appearance of the landscaping has a direct and significant impact on home values
A community-led effort without the need for significant, direct Board Member involvement is possible and would be effective - if the newly formed Committee has Board support and authorization
